Girls Puberty Program | Ages 8–11 (+Adult)

Help Girls Face Puberty With Greater Confidence

When girls learn about puberty before it happens, they feel more prepared and might even be excited. This is the perfect age to start healthy, factual conversations about girls’ changing bodies and minds.

What’s it About?

Growth & Development

We will begin our program discussing the progression of puberty with specific attention to breast development, hair growth, height increases, curves, and acne.

Bras & Bra Shopping

Using a large sample of bras for young girls, we will demonstrate various styles and types of bras and discuss tips for bra shopping.

Hygiene & Hair Management

Hygiene becomes a big deal in puberty, so we’ll address body odor, oily skin, management of acne, and hair management, including to shave or not. We emphasize personal choice and safety especially when it comes to hair removal.

Health & Nutrition

During times of fast growth, nutrition, exercise, sleep and hydration are especially important. We’ll review medically backed recommendations for general health.

Knowing the proper names of “private” parts (female & male) is important. We’ll cover that with some great visual aids and we’ll increase everyone’s comfort with the terminology.

Menstruation & Menstrual Hygiene

We'll start from the beginning about what a period is, how and why it happens, and what to expect including timing, flow, pain, and accident management.

Feminine Care Products

We’ll demonstrate pads and tampons, troubleshoot challenges, and encourage menstrual hygiene. The girls will definitely gain greater comfort handling the products.

Moods & Emotions

Brain changes happen at the same time as body changes, so we’ll provide some understanding and offer some tips on handling emotions.

Curiosity & Internet Safety

When kids are curious, their go-to is Google, but we’ll discuss why that’s a bad idea for girls who want to be smart about their changing bodies. Instead, we’ll encourage safer outlets for curious minds.
